![]() Ireland’s ascendancy continued apace through the first spell, and they thought they had extended their 5-3 lead on the half-hour mark when big prop Tadhg Furlong looked to have powered over off a lineout attack. Kiwi wing James Lowe crossed wide on the left after a lineout option yielded the result the roaring home crowd desired. Ireland’s withering intent had been there for all to see from the opening whistle and it was fitting they struck first, in the 15th minute, just after All Blacks hooker Codie Taylor had been yellow-carded for a marginal high hit on Jonny Sexton. ![]() The visitors also lost first five Beauden Barrett at end of the first quarter to a head knock and Anton Lienert-Brown just before halftime to a shoulder injury to further knock them off stride.
